Description

This cemetery surrounds the All Saints Episcopal Church, founded in 1894. It is located on Old Dixie Highway, Rt. 707, just off North Sewall’s Point Road, one mile south of the Jensen Beach business district. The entrance and parking lot are around the corner via NE Seaview Drive. The cemetery overlooks the Indian River. This cemetery has two sections. The old section was established in 1898 before Martin County was formed from Dade County. It has several larger standing monuments, but the majority are stone markers only slightly raised or flush with the ground. A few headstones have been found to have dates older than 1898, but it is not known if they were there before the cemetery was established, or moved to the cemetery later. They are located behind the parish office building in the Seery Family plot (Block 55). A grave of a person who died in 1887 was moved to the cemetery in 1902. All Saints has two columbarium buildings toward the south-side front portion of the cemetery. They have both above ground burials and ash remains. The new section of the cemetery, consisting of five acres, was added in 1933 with the acquisition of land from the Jensen Fruit Co. As part of the deed agreement, the southwest quarter of this land was to be a “free public burial ground” (reported in The Stuart Daily News, Thursday, 6 July 1933, p. 1). Correct address of All Saints Cemetery is: 2303 NE Seaview Ave., Jensen Beach, Martin County, Florida. (27.2253249,-80.2261583) Information per Martin County Property Appraiser and USGS.gov.
